Press Release: TGV Indulge Lounge at Suria KLCC
A Fusion of Tradition, Flexibility and Contemporary Design
Hon Architecture is proud to announce the completion of the new TGV Indulge Lounge at Suria KLCC. Commissioned in mid-2024, the project transforms a 2,000-square-foot interior into a sophisticated yet flexible lounge space designed to elevate the cinematic experience at one of Malaysia’s most iconic retail destinations. Located adjacent to TGV’s premium cinema halls, the Indulge Lounge is envisioned as a multifunctional hospitality space—a refined setting for pre-show relaxation, private events, and media gatherings.
Hon Architecture approached the design with a vision that merges international luxury with local cultural identity, creating a space that feels both exclusive and welcoming. The existing layout, consisting of two rooms with varying ceiling heights, inspired a spatial narrative of contrast and progression. This natural distinction allowed the design team to subtly divide the lounge into zones of differing character—from open, luminous public areas to more private, intimate alcoves.
One of the lounge’s most striking features is a sculptural rattan oval structure, suspended like a floating canopy. Crafted from traditional woven material, this element introduces a warm tactile quality that speaks to Malaysian heritage. In contrast, the surrounding aluminum-finish wall panels bring in a sleek, reflective surface that diffuses light softly across the space, evoking a modern, cosmopolitan aesthetic.
“This project is a dialogue between modernity and tradition, soft and hard, curve and line,” said the founder, Chee Hon Kong, at Hon Architecture. “We wanted to challenge the rigid orthogonal layout of the existing space by introducing curvilinear forms that invite movement, soften perception, and evoke a sense of crafted elegance.” The interplay between traditional materials and modern finishes, and between fluid geometry and structural formality, results in a space that is not only visually compelling but also highly versatile. The lounge can be easily reconfigured for various event formats without compromising its design integrity or comfort.
Hon Architecture’s work at Suria KLCC reflects a broader commitment to contextual, responsive, and forward-thinking design—celebrating local identity while embracing global sensibilities.
